"How
To" : Load DIFFUSE 'N OPACITY from scratch

In the picture above, you'll find a few "basics,"
just to give us a starting place. Please make note of the Scene
Manager (lower left), the Modify Panel (along the right side) and
the Primary Scene controls (along the top of the scene). These are
the important things you will need to know about iClone 4 and our
movie files. If you are an experienced user, you can probably skip
way ahead.

Getting a video "going" is really easy. Just load up
a Plane 3x2, select the plane (lower left), double-click the
DIFFUSE channel (right strip), navigate to the video file and be
sure to open the DIFFUSE channel - not the OPACITY channel.

|
|
|

|
|
|
|
Now, do the same for the OPACITY channel - make sure you select
the corresponding OPACITY channel - not the DIFFUSE channel.

That's it. You're done. You have just loaded
up your first video motion file.
|
|
Please see the next tutorial for how to
"change" motion files, control 'em (getting them to
move) and start and stop the motion.
|

|
One word of caution here. Once you get your video download
unzipped, "plant it." Don't let it move after you have
loaded it into iClone 4. iClone 4 is very picky about its video
files and uses absolute paths to locate them. So, if you do create
a scene one day and then later move the video files, you will have
to find them for iClone 4 when opening the old scene. Not really a
bother. Just DO NOT! try to do anything with the iClone 4 scene
(save it, change it, etc.) until AFTER! you have re-located the
files. iClone 4 has a tendency to crash if you you try to push it
in this situation.
