Adobe Premiere 6.5 type programs

Critter Overlays and Effects for "Non-iClone 4" Users

Whatever can be done in iClone 4 with our motion files can also be done, quite easily, in Adobe Premiere 6.5 (or similar editors) - using our .mov files!

Software Requirements: Your linear video editor must support QuickTime .mov format with Alpha Channel/Chroma-Key (Our Ex: Adobe Premiere 6.5)

Watch a video tutorial (How to Chroma-key with Magix Video Editing - or any comparable program)

Go to a "How To" for using Anime Studio

All linear video editors work differently, so you will need to adjust the following instructions for your video editor. But, here's the pipeline in general format.

SUMMARY

The Critter Overlays and Effects are looping video files. You can create a walk, run, fly, effect, etc. motion of any length:

1) Import the file into your linear video editor

2) Copy and paste the file (side by side) as many times as needed to produce the duration you require.

3) Export this entire work line as a new file with a new filename. Be sure to export in QuickTime (.mov) format with alpha channel included. We recommend the "animation" codec for the QuickTime format. The .png codec also works very well, but produces a larger file size. Be sure to set your export with Depth=Millions+ (This preserves the Alpha Channel.)

4) Import and overlay the new duration file over your background, using whatever method your linear editor requires to deal with chroma-key (alpha transparency) files.

5) Linear motion can now be applied in your video editor by making the imported file larger or smaller at either the start or end of the file.

For example, for "diagonally" moving characters, making the file smaller at the start makes the character appear to be moving toward the viewer. Making the file smaller at the end makes the character appear to be moving away from the viewer. Of course, if they're moving horizontally, there is no need for size adjustment at the start or end, except to "fit" them to your movie script.

If your linear video editor permits multiple video tracks, you can add the new file to those multiple tracks to produce, for example, a whole herd of horses running across your project!

Example: Using Adobe Premiere 6.5

Layout the file for a new duration and export as .mov, Animation, Depth=Millions+

Import the new duration and set Alpha Channel transparency

Export as any type you want

Apply Motion Settings

This example starts and ends the motion onscreen.

Make your horses enter or leave the scene by placing them outside of the viewing area at start and/or finish.

Create a Whole Herd of Horses!

Happy Editing!
